I never have time to eat in the morning and usually jet out of the house without anything substantial. Besides my usual oatmeal and soymilk I have cereal sometimes. I like to eat fast. What do you guys eat in the morning? Do you carry any food with you?
I go to this organic market and hit up their bulk section for some muesli, blueberry granola and some peanuts. throw that in a bowl with some soy milk, a piece of toast with peanut butter and some juice. you'll be feeling like its an xbreakfast of championsx.

If you don't eat food in the morning, then it's a good time to absorb your minerals, and especially iron, because foods esp fats can bind to them and you won't digest. So take your vitamin when you drink water in the morning, ideally you're supposed to wait 2 hours to eat anything.
For breakfast: I'm not veggie/vegan but I usually have a bowl of organic oatbran flakes with organic milk. Sometimes I add raisins or have orange juice, and sometimes a handful of almonds.
I eat in the car sometimes: I got Zone energy bars to just grab and go in the morning, but they gave me so much energy I ran 20 miles last Thursday at the gym. I think they had some hand in that, so I'm laying off them while I recover.
Kashi bars were good to grab and go, but my mom quit buying them for some unknown reason. Yes, I live at home.
I carry food with me for certain occasions. I bought myself organic pop tarts, other similar bars, carob covered almonds, pretzels, ginger candies (for motion sickness) for my trip this weekend, since we're supposed to "bring money for fast food" for a whole 3 days. Not going to happen.

I have a couple questions about vegan/vegetarian diets, especially to do with vitamins.
My understanding is that vitamin B-12 only comes from meat. Do you take vitamins as a replacement? Is the B-12 in that man-made?
Secondly, iron. Do you take an iron replacement of some sort? I think I had an iron deficiency earlier this semester when I tried to convert to vegetarianism. I've given up on it though, because my Dad makes meat every night, and he is important to me. Is there a typical plant source from which you get your iron?
Thirdly, fat. Is it possible to be healthy without regularly eating fat? How do vegans get fat in their diets? Do oils suffice?

I've begun to answer my own questions. http://www.vegsource.com/attwood/vitB-12.htm
If it's true that bacteria synthesize it in your system, then would it be possible to consume B-12 containing bacteria?
I just saw this post now....
You can get B-12 from dairy, eggs, and honey. I don't know of any natural vegan sources that have it. I think the closest would be nutritional yeast, but even that's made in a lab.
I've been lacto-vegetarian for 16 years (I don't eat eggs for religious reasons) and early in my vegetarianism, I dabbled in veganism for several months. I wasn't eating very well and looking back, I now realize I had a B-12 deficiency. So the mumbo jumbo about how your body can store it for X amount of years isn't true for everyone! If you're going to go vegan, take a supplement!
Dark leafy greens are a great source of iron, but don't mix them with calcium since the latter prevents you from absorbing the former. My body has trouble absorbing iron as it is so I have to take iron supplements regardless, and food-based ones at that.
I can understand that your dad is important to you, but if you are important to him, he would try to understand and support your attempts at vegetarianism.
