Straightedge meetup

Meet someone who's drug and alcohol free..and maybe even vegetarian/vegan!

I never have time to eat in the morning and usually jet out of the house without anything substantial. Besides my usual oatmeal and soymilk I have cereal sometimes. I like to eat fast. What do you guys eat in the morning? Do you carry any food with you?

I usually eat the regulars, cereal, waffles, maybe some leftovers from dinner the night before. I also work at an organic foods market in town so I steal smoothies and fruits to eat in the morning when I get there.

Plain whole fat yogurt with agave nectar, fresh fruit, and granola. I eat that the most. Sometimes I eat fake bacon or sausages, but I'm trying to get away from processed foods. When I have time I'll juice vegetables. Now that's it's getting cold, I eat oatmeal made with milk, Ceylon cinnamon, agave nectar, unsweetened coconut, and when it's done cooking, throw in some walnuts (as to not destroy the omega goodness).

I usually eat two fried eggs on toast with earth balance margarine and nutritional yeast. Sometimes, instead of eggs, I'll cut a slice of baked smoked tofu in half and fry that, and also eat it on toast. I also put YUM! sauce on it sometimes. It's really good to eat protein for breakfast! As it takes longer to digest, it helps keep you full longer than other food.

Orange juice and toast. Sometimes cereal. How different is soyamilk compared to regular cowmilk? I'm interested in trying it as normal milk doesn't really agree with my body that well i don't think. Say a few hours after eating breakfast if I have milk then I feel a bit queezy after. although I'm not sure if thats because I rush it or not..

i have been a supplement-free vegan for over 15 years...for those that are worried about the b vitamins you can find them in seaweed and spirulina and leafy green vegetables. i played college soccer and have ridden mountain bikes competitively and i cycle (roadbike) like crazy and i have never had an issue with any deficiency of any sort. i eat mainly fresh fruit and raw or steamed vegetables but i do like beans and rice and i drink a soy protein shake (supergreen pro96 with vitasoy because they are the only company that assures in writing that they don't use animal adhesives or animal byproducts in their packaging) after every workout. i am definitely into the animal rights aspect but it also made sense to me that if i was sxe then i was against drugs for anyone that might not have a voice of their own...secondhand smoke for children (homes, cars, etc...), babies, pets, etc...and that got me thinking about all the dugs they inject into animals and all the drug testing and alcohol testing they do on animals for both vegan and non-vegan products and that just reinforced the whole vegan sxe thing for me. i would say animals are probably the most innocent and voiceless of any group out there. i feel like those with the voice, the courage and the strength to stand up for those that lack the ability have a responsibility and a duty to do so. forcing that stuff down and innocents throat or into their veins or lungs just makes me sick and i will not be a part of it...xvx. not to mention the residual drugs, hormones and antibiotics that contaminate animal products and therefore contaminate those that consume them. the hormones alone have been the basis for lawsuits against the dairy industry. egg laying hens are drugged so heavily to fight infection the drugs are measurable in their flesh and eggs. scary stuff. poison-free and carnivore/omnivore are like contradictions in terms unless you are buying from an organic free range farm that doesn't use drugs.

i eat fruit and sweet potatoes for breakfast...sometimes oatmeal...supposedly it should be your most nutrient rich meal as it is going to supply the most fuel through the day...so eat big in the morning they say...stay true, jason

hmmmm I love b-fast. sometimes I'll eat a concoction of granola, soy milk, brown sugar and mango..it's spazmazing. Vegan pancakes are good when I don't have much to do that day. I'll even scramble some leftover tofu and potatoes...or...ahem..taters lol...and make a skillet scramble thingy. I just always make sure to include fresh fruit, whole grain or oats and some tea to get me going....yep.....just because it's xVx doesn't mean it can't be good for ya...booyah!

I usually eat cereals. Not stuff like Lucky Charms or anything with gelatin in it though.
Usually the really sweet sugar coated things like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles and the like.
I also eat eggs once in a while, usually fried, but lately I've been having bagels. A lot of meat eaters say that all we vegetarians eat are salads and things like that, but when you think of it, there is a great variety of food for vegetarians.
And the whole concept of eating meat is strange, since humans are meant to be vegetarian. That's why we've got flat teeth.
I've never seen a baboon munchin' on a steak. :p
